I loved the charm of The Ken hotel. The staff greeted me warmly and made me feel right at home. My quadruple room was clean, comfy, and had stunning views of the surrounding area. The atmosphere felt cozy and inviting, perfect for unwinding. Breakfast was delicious and gave me the energy I needed for my adventures. The dining experience was lacking during my stay, mainly because the service felt slow at peak times. I noticed some cleanliness issues in the dining area that took away from the overall enjoyment. the Wi-Fi could use some improvement. I struggled to get a good connection in certain spots. But overall, the unique character of the hotel and the friendly staff made it a delightful experience.

We loved our stay and the kids had a blast at the sun terrace and enjoyed making s'mores by the fire pit. The room was cozy and perfect for our family, although we did notice it could use an extra person to help overall. Don’t forget to try the paneer butter masala. it’s to die for! 🌟

The restaurant offers a fantastic variety of local dishes, and the full Scottish breakfast is a hearty way to start the day. Scenic surroundings near the water enhance the overall atmosphere, making it a pleasant spot for relaxation.
Upon arrival, it took a while before anyone appeared to check us in, adding unnecessary stress to the beginning of our stay. The rooms we experienced had a dated look and felt a bit neglected with old bedding and lumpy pillows making for a rather uncomfortable night. The organization during meal times could use some refinement, as it felt a tad chaotic at points. Although the location is lovely, the overall upkeep left us wanting more.

Cycle hideaway for families
The owners were so friendly and helpful, they even let us store our ebikes in a safe shed overnight, which was a blessing after a long day riding. The bar was warm and comfortable and the restaurant had a stunning view of the bridge and river.
It wasn’t the cheapest place around but still okay for what it offered.

A picturesque setting by the river sets the stage for a comfortable stay, with clean rooms and a remarkably comfy bed. The friendly and accommodating staff enhance the experience, and the evening meals are commendable, especially the delicious paneer butter masala. the room felt a bit cold, and the poor quality of the bed linens detracted from the overall comfort. the lack of drying facilities left us unprepared after a rainy cycle ride.
